Alma King was born on March 4, 1956, to the late Amelia King and Sammy Dorsey. Alma departed this life on January 19, 2026.

Alma was a graduate of McClenaghan High School and Columbia College where she obtained her Associate Degree in Social Work. She was a beloved figure in our community, having served as a manager at McDonald's for twenty years, where she was a motherly figure to many. She will be remembered for her huge heart, her love of fishing, playing spades, cheering on the NY Giants, and spending time with family and friends. She will be missed for the joy and laughter she brought to everyone she met.

Alma was preceded in death by parents, her son-in-law Vinnie Brayboy, her brother Sammy Dorsey Jr., and her sister-in-law Sandra Brown.

She leaves behind a large and loving family to cherish her memory, including her daughters Tacowanda Brayboy and Chemeré (Rashard) Mason; her bonus son Renaldo Cannon and daughter Lakisha Greene; seven grandchildren who are the loves of her life, Siberius King, Kwajalyn Noble, Yah'mira Thomas, Amir Thomas, Renasia Cannon, Iyanna Cannon, and Nyzir Young; two great-grandchildren who are a breath of fresh air, Karzell and Malayah; siblings Betty (Febbit) Dorsey, Randolph Brown, and Rosetta (Richard) Tipa; her bonus sister Doris Benjamin; devoted friends Kenny Way and Cecil Ellison, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
