Andrena
Donnelly
February 10, 1968 – January 19, 2026
A beautiful life began in the borough of Queens, New York, where the late Edwiner Thomas Donnelly and Lawrence Joseph Donnelly welcomed a precious baby girl named Andrena into the world on February 10, 1968. From the very beginning, her life was marked by love, promise, and purpose.
At the age of five, Andrena and her mother relocated to South Carolina in search of new beginnings and a fresh start. They were lovingly embraced by her maternal grandparents, and she quickly transitioned from the fast pace of city life to the quiet beauty of country farm living. Even in her youth, God's hand was evident over Andrena's life, continually covering and blessing her every step of the way.
Andrena attended Mount Horeb Baptist Church and joined Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member. She listened to the church service on January 18, a day before she transitioned to her final resting place. That was her faithfulness, showing up regardless.
As she grew older, Andrena blossomed into a remarkable young woman. She prepared to graduate from Hannah-Pamplico High School as a proud member of the Class of 1986. Soon after, she claimed the University of South Carolina in Columbia as her pride and joy. Immersing herself fully into Gamecock Nation, she became a devoted superfan and lifelong supporter. College life suited her well—wherever there was a game, a social event, a dance floor, or a gathering of friends, Andrena was there, wholeheartedly present and full of joy. No matter the circumstance, she chose happiness and peace, always making room for laughter while keeping God at the center of her life.
After her years at USC, Andrena returned to the countryside of Pamplico, South Carolina, where she began her professional journey with Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. Though she faced challenges along the way, she remained steadfast in faith, praising God through every hardship and trusting Him to carry her through. For more than 30 years, she worked tirelessly as a devoted employee, generously sharing her wisdom and life experiences with her coworkers. Many were inspired by her faith, and some were even drawn closer to God through her gentl guidance. Andrena often said, "When there's a little drama, just throw some God in the mix and everything will be alright. Let Him take the wheel—I'm giving these problems back to You, because I know Your hands will never break." When she felt her work journey had reached its fulfillment, she retired to focus on enjoying life and restoring her health, praising God and savoring every step along the way.
Andrena had a deep love for travel and discovering new restaurants and experiences wherever she went. She was always the first to have everything packed and planned for the annual family mountain trips—trips filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories. Her family was her greatest joy and her anchor. Each adventure she took inspired her to encourage others to do the same. She firmly believed in enjoying life now rather than later, understanding how precious time truly is. She was also deeply committed to her daily exercise routine, approaching it with the same discipline and enthusiasm she brought to every part of her life. One of Andrena's greatest joys was staying connected with family and friends.Texting, checking in, and making sure everyone felt loved was something she never neglected. She delighted in writing notes, speeches, and sending thoughtful cards. If you ever received an Andrena Donnelly card, note, or message, you knew you were truly blessed. She loved deeply, and that love has left lasting fingerprints on the hearts of family and friends—stories that will continue to be told for generations. There was a quiet grace about her—nothing loud or demanding—just a steady warmth that made people feel better simply by being near her. She offered kindness and God-fearing advice freely, never expecting anything in return. The world is better for having had her in it, and those who knew her are forever changed by her presence. Though she may be gone from our sight, Andrena remains everywhere—in the love she gave, the faith she lived, and the memories she created that continue to shine. A beautiful soul like hers does not fade. She lives on in every heart she touched. There is no greater honor than to have been connected to Ms. Andrena Donnelly. From beginning to end, her life was rooted in love: love for family, love for friends, love for life itself, and a deep, unwavering love for God that guided her steps. Andrena's faith was not merely something she believed—it was something she lived. She loved her God, cherished her church, and found strength in worship, carrying her devotion with quiet grace. Her life was truly beautiful, filled with kindness, joy, and happiness that she freely shared with others. She laughed easily, loved deeply, and lived generously. The world is better for having had her in it, and those blessed to know her will forever carry her warmth in their hearts.
