Obituary

Ann Haynesworth Coleman was born December 12, 1935, in Florence, South Carolina to the late Hazel and Annie Dell Jackson Haynesworth. She departed this life on July 28, 2025, at home.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donnie Coleman, two sons Pastor Vernon L. Haynesworth and Linwood Jones; two brothers, Elder George Haynesworth and David Haynesworth; and two sisters Mary Lou Brinson and Martha H. James.

Ann was educated in Florence County schools. She received her nurse aide training in Washington, DC in the 1960's. One of her fondest memories was working at Georgetown University Hospital in DC. She later relocated to Plainfield, NJ and worked many years as a medical assistant at Plainfield Health Center, where her supervisor encouraged her to continue her education. She was accepted into the LPN nursing school under Manpower Training Program in Newark, NJ and has been a  Licensed Practical Nurse since 1978. She worked at the Woodbridge State School in NJ for many years. Graduating from nursing school and purchasing her own home were personal achievements that made her proud. Ann always knew she would return home to be near her family, and in1989 she relocated back to her beloved city of Florence, with her husband Donnie. She worked at SC DDSN for many years, the area local nursing homes, and shadowed in public schools before retiring.

Ann had a funny personality and loved to laugh and tell jokes. She loved her Jackson & Haynesworth families, tremendously. If she met a stranger, it was almost guaranteed by the end of the conversation she would have asked, "Do you know any Haynesworth, or Jackson's from Timmonsville?" She enjoyed planting flowers and decorating her yard, but Ann was most known for taking pictures and cherishing her large collection of family photos that extend decades. It's quite common for her family to say, "Call Aunt Ann and see if she has a picture."

Ann leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Arthur (Betty) Haynesworth, Richard Haynesworth and John Hines; two daughters Patrice Washington and Charlynne (Richard) Trappier; five generations of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Cecelia Burch of Jacksonville, Florida and Hazel Graham of Florence, South Carolina; one brother, Johnny (Rosa) Haynesworth; one sister-in-law, Frances Kate Haynesworth; a host of other relatives, friends, and extended family. Special thank you to sitters; Gail Baily, Patricia Brown and Mcleod Hospice.
