Annie Louise Jackson Burgess was born on June 11, 1947, to the late Nathan and Lillie Mae Jackson Briggs in Florence, South Carolina. On December 7, 2025, Annie was called home by God.

She attended the public schools of Florence, South Carolina.

Annie dedicated her career to serving others at Clark Nursing Home, now known as Carlyle Senior Care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Felicia Williams; son, Henry Daniels; brothers, Mr. Norman Briggs, Sr. and Mr. Nathaniel Briggs, Sr.; and  sisters, Bertha Mae Briggs and Dorothy Murray, who now all welcome her into eternal rest.

Annie is survived by her children, Anthony Dewayne Burgess and Angel Lisa McClain; grandchildren, Laron, Arron, and Kyron Williams, Sherice Burgess, Dequincy and Dejuan McClain, Quandelin (Vanshawn) Sowells, Antoinette Burgess, Marilyn Wilson, Dormeale Wilson, Marcus Burgess, and Anfernee Burgess; great-grandchildren; a brother, Ossie Briggs; sister-in-law, Linda Briggs; one aunt, Betty Williams; special niece  Precious Briggs; best friends, Shirley Simmons and Eva Wright; special friend Ivioris Manago; a host of  nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will cherish her memory.
