Bernice J. Johnson was born September 25, 1956, to the union of Clayton Sr. and Bessie Mae Jones in Florence, South Carolina.

Bernice was affectionately known by family and friends as "Teenie". She attended South Florence High School.

She worked at Bojangles for nineteen years where she mentored many of her employees as well as touched the lives of her customers. She was a faithful partner of Abundant Faith Worship Center, where she served as the president of the Fundraiser committee, a     member of the praise team and the kitchen committee. She was a selfless, God fearing woman that loved studying and reading her Bible. She did not mind praying for people or giving them a word from God.

Bernice J. Johnson departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 16, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her father, Clayton Jones Sr. and her brother Clayton (Carrie) Jones Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children Eric (Shawana) Johnson Sr., Niesha (Shelton) Johnson, Raven (Stan) McFadden, Kwanda (Shaunte) Carroway, and Henry (Tela) Johnson; bonus children Shannon (Larenz) Goodman, Rodney (Pam) Cooper, Fredrick Cooper, and  Antonio Johnson; grandchildren Charnissa, Tynika, Eric Jr.,  E'maujah, Semaj, Jailin, Jada, and Journey Johnson, Zaveon Redden, Kameron Hawkins, Jasmin Brown, Sa'vayiah Washington, Deshaun, Teshaun, and Kayla   Carroway, Markel McFadden, and Mikel Glover; great-grandchildren Jadyn, Braylen, Karter, Landon, Josiah, and Dashaud. Her mother, Bessie Jones; brothers, Alfred (Tonya) Jones, Tony (Donna) Jones Sr., Quintin (Racquel) Jones Sr.; sisters Thelma Lee Jones, Josephine Jones, Debbie Simmons, Annie Nettles, and Melanie (Jimmy) McConico; special friends Diane Jackson, Nancy Goodson, Marguerite McCall; special aunt Bernice Graham; a host of nieces,  nephews, and other relatives and friends.
