Mrs. Bertha Mae Eaddy Bethea, age 73, entered eternal rest on August 12; 2025. She was born on March 4, 1952 to the late Lizzie Eaddy.

Bertha was converted at an early age and joined Pee Dee Baptist Church, singing  on the Travelers Choir. Later, she joined the House of God Church in Pamplico, SC.

Bertha attended the public schools of Florence District 2 and graduated from Gibbs High School in 1970.

She was employed at Womack Nursery and Craftech Industries until their closures.

Bertha was joined in marriage to the late Leon Bethea until his death in April, 1993.

She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and grandchild, Rodney Eugene Davis. Jr, (Little Chunky).

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Stephnie (Ron) Hamer of Charlotte, NC, Leon Jevon (April) Bethea, of Charlotte, NC and Sonya (Darius) Williams of Washington, DC; eight grandchildren who were the joy of her life, Devonte "Scooter" Lacy, Ronald "June Buggy" Hamer, Jr., Stephon "Kelly Boo" Hamer, Jordan "Tree" Hamer, Alexis "Little Mama" Hamer, Mackah  "Man-Man" Bethea, Maylha Jevonna "Little Mama 2" and Alicia Bethea; eight great grands; one sister Thomasena (Harry) McNeil of Pamplico, SC; one brother Daniel L. Eaddy of Pamplico, SC; one uncle Marvin K. Eaddy of Florence, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.
