Shawna Jones and the late George Fleming were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Destiny Maya Fleming, born on October 17, 1999. She was raised with love and guidance by the late Mona Lisa Jones.
Destiny attended Hannah-Pamplico High School and graduated with the Class of 2018. During high school, she was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda and was crowned Hannah-Pamplico Homecoming Queen in 2017. After high school, Destiny attended Florence-Darlington Technical College, earning a degree in Medical Assisting. Most recently, she attended Horry Georgetown Technical College for Medical Coding and Billing.
Her professional experience includes working as a Medical Assistant and Patient Service Representative for Doctors Care, a Patient Service Representative and Medical Assistant for McLeod Health, and her most recent role as a Unit Secretary at Select Regency Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.
Destiny accepted Christ on August 24, 2014, and was baptized at Spring Branch Baptist Church. Her commitment to Christ was evident throughout her young life, demonstrated by her involvement in the youth choir, Bible school, and many other activities.
Destiny transitioned to everlasting life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her caregiving mother, Mona L. Jones of Pamplico, SC, her father, George Fleming, Jr. of Johnsonville, SC, and brothers George H. (Spotlight) Fleming of New Britain, CT, Kevin Fleming of Johnsonville, SC, and Kashion Fleming of Pamplico, SC.
To cherish her memory, Destiny leaves behind her mother, Shawna Jones; her brother, Myron Jones; her sisters, Amy Pressley, Sharon Fleming, Tonia (Harry) Williams, Keisha Graves, and Tasha Fleming; grandmother, Brenda Bennett; uncles, Allen (Odessa) Jones, and Rufus Fleming; aunts, Helen Stuckey and Mae Helen Fleming; along with a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
