Hazel Lee Strother, daughter of the late Henry and Ida Lee Strother was born on May 12, 1948 in Florence County. She departed this earthly life on January 6, 2025 at MUSC.

Hazel received her education in the Florence County School District. At an early age, she joined the Majority Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member until her health declined.

Hazel was preceded in death, not only by her parents, but also her sister  Albertha Green.

She leaves to cherish her memories nieces and nephews she help raised since birth Tonya Hanner and Melanie Gregg both of Florence, SC, Linnon (Meredith) Green of Miami, Fl, Robert Green of Ansonia, CT, John Green of Florence, SC and Russell Green of Austin, TX; one sister Ruby Gregg of  Florence, SC; cousins Sara Muldrow of Florence, SC and Evelyn Muldrow of Columbia, SC; seven great nieces and nephews, seven great great nieces and nephews; special family members Tonya Neal, Andrea Tinney and Isaac James; a host of family and friends.
