Mr. Larry James departed his earthly life on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born on Thursday, May 17, 1951 in Florence County to the late David and Lillian James.

In his younger years, Larry attended public schools in Florence County. He was employed at Socar Steel for five years, later became employed at Vulcraft where he retired after twenty-nine years as lead welder.

Larry, affectionately known as "COACH LARRY" was a dedicated boxing coach at the Weed & Seed for over 12 years. Coach Larry made a big impact throughout the community through boxing by training all ages and genders. Outside of the boxing ring, he was a member of "Florence Coon Hunters Club" with some of his best buddies. Larry had a passion for boxing, working on cars,  hunting, fishing, and being a lending hand in a time of need.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was loved by many and left an impact on everyone he encountered.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents David and Lillian James and brother Willie James.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 55 years Brenda James of the home, children Kimberly (Kevin) Crawford of Florence, SC, Craig James of Atlanta, GA, Crayton James of Florence, SC, Corey (Erica) Little of Darlington, SC, and Brent Campbell of Florence, SC; ten grandchildren; four great-grand children; sister Calena Dargan of Florence SC; one nephew Timothy "Tim" (Doretha) Dargan of Florence SC; five great nephews; one uncle Johnny (Sylvia) Williams; one aunt Alease Alexander; his four legged companion "Lolly Pop", along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Larry will be missed greatly by his friends and family. He leaves a great legacy to be remembered by.
