Lavern Eaddy was born July 1, 1962 to Clara Lee Eaddy Smith in Florence County. He was raised by his grandparents the Late Joseph and Gertrude Eaddy, aunts and step-father the Late Donald Lee Smith. He departed this earthly life on February 12, 2023.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pee Dee Baptist Church in Pamplico, SC. He loved the Lord and always made time to  study the bible.

Lavern graduated from Hannah-Pamplico High School. After graduation he attended South Carolina State University where he joined ROTC. After college he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four and a half years as a medical specialist. In 1992, he became employed with Nan Ya Plastics until his passing.

Lavern is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph & Gertrude Eaddy, stepfather Donald Lee Smith, great niece Nah'Zia Cook, aunts Madge Stokes, Annie Lee Gregory, uncles Lewis Eaddy, Joseph Eaddy and Ishmael Eaddy.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Clara Lee Eaddy Smith of Bennettsville, SC; sister Donuel (Trayon) Smith of Bennettsville, SC; nieces Shakita (Jatorry) Smith, Tanesha (Randall) Cook, Antwanaka Campbell all of Bennettsville, SC; nephew  Anthony (Theira) Williams Jr.  of Bennettsville, SC; great nieces Jada, Keiyona, Sha'Queece and A'Laya all of Bennettsville, SC; great nephews Shy"Quez, Kendrick, Ty'Daveion and Nas'Zir all of Benettsville, SC; aunts Hazel Cain, Everlee Eaddy, Earl Green all of Connecticut, Ruby (Clyde) Barden, Cora Fleming, Sarah (Tonnie) Robinson all of Pamplico, SC; a best friend Sylvester Jones of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, a host of other relatives and friends.
