Mr. Louis Benjamin Hanna III, affectionately known as Lou, passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina. Lou was born in Lansing, Michigan, on April 16, 1942, to Louis B. (Ben) Hanna II and Mabel Eberly.

Lou graduated from Michigan Tech in 1963, earning a Bachelor's degree in mathematics. He devoted many years of his professional life to working as an actuary and also served as a teacher. His commitment to education and numbers defined much of his career.

An active member of St. Paul's Church in Florence, Lou was known for dedicating his life to serving others. His involvement in the church and his devotion to helping those around him were central to his character and legacy.

Lou is survived by his two sons, Mark and Chris, daughter-in-law Christine, and three granddaughters: Kaylee, Abbie, and Miley. He is also survived by two brothers, Bryce and Craig.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents and his son Mathew.

Services will be held on Saturday September 27th at St Paul's Church in Florence. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with the service at 11:00 AM.
