Obituary

Marcus Hurd Jr., affectionately known as "Lil Man," was born on December 8, 1995, to Sharon State and Marcus Hurd, Sr. He peacefully answered the call of our Heavenly Father at his home on January 10, 2026.

At an early age, Marcus accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior and became a faithful member of St. John A.M.E. Church, where he served on the usher board.

He attended the public schools of Florence County School District Three and graduated from Lake City High School/Adult Ed in 2015. Throughout his life, Marcus worked various jobs, with his most recent employment being with EDK Catering.

Marcus was a gentle giant with a heart full of love. He loved children, adored his dogs, and was deeply family-oriented. He was always willing to help others and often stepped in without being asked when he saw a need. His kindness, humility, and giving spirit will forever be remembered.
