Maxie Lee
Jenkins
March 19, 1951 – April 16, 2023
Maxie "Mack" Jenkins was born on March 19, 1951 to Pearl Brooks and Bobby McCallister in Florence County. He left his earthly home on the evening of April 16, 2023.
Maxie accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age and over the years he never lost hope nor faith because of his belief that the good Lord would see him through. He was not able to have much of a formal education, only going to the 2nd grade, but he was always a hardworking man. After retiring from Wellman Industries, he continued working several more years at Nan-Ya Plastics and Hannah Residential Manor. His love of the outdoors made him an excellent gardener. He also loved fishing, Doberman Pinscher dogs, music, sports, hunting, cooking, and a good juke joint! He may have looked like an ole farmer most of the time, but when it was time to shine, he made sure he was dressed to impress and he had a sharp mouth and sense of humor to go along with it!
Maxie was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, a sister Shirley Brooks, a nephew Billy Timmons, and brother in law Paul Frierson.
Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his daughter Tanya Jenkins of Charlotte, NC; son Dustin Jenkins of Charlotte, NC; former wife and mother of his children Wanda Bartell Jenkins, sisters Peggy Frierson, Denise (George) Eldridge, and Wanda Brooks of Pamplico, SC; brothers Pastor Johnny (Pastor Patricia) Jenkins of Pamplico, SC and Charlie Timmons of Darlington, SC; aunts Lizzie Mae Jenkins of Middletown, CT, Renetta Jenkins of Charleston, SC; uncle Sam Jenkins of Middletown, CT; grandchildren Cameron Jenkins, Skyler Williams, and Gavin Williams of Charlotte, NC, Triumph "Munchie" Jenkins of Orangeburg, SC; several nieces and nephews; a best friend and caretaker Debra Myers of Coward, SC, a host of other relatives and friends.
