Mrs. Michele Johnson-Lawrence was born October 5, 1963 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Myrtle Shievdayal and the late Esley Johnson Sr. She departed this life on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

She was educated in the Hudson County public school system and furthered her education with  Hudson County college courses. She entered the workforce and maintained several managerial positions before moving to Florence, SC and beginning her career as a caretaker and social worker. Michele was a beautiful woman with an amazing soul that was loved by everyone she encountered.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Esley Johnson Jr.; sisters Wanda Sanders and Roxanne Hunt; grandchildren Messiah and  Malik Samb.

Those left to cherish her memories are husband Kenneth (Red) Lawrence, daughter Deja Fetima Lawrence, sons Kimani Kevin Lawrence and Hakeem Kenneth Lawrence; three granddaughters Milani Samb, Emani Samb and Mylah Samb; two grandsons Elijah Lawrence and Kai Lawrence; a  sister Brenda (Anthony) Frazier; a brother Michael (Teresa) Johnson; god sister Darlene Briggs, two god daughters Sade Lawrence and Teshia Goodwin, one god son Tajhmere Waji Rhome; best friend and sister-in-law Kim Lawrence; special friends Carolyn Jones and Linda Bostick, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
