Mother Annie Gertrude
Mealing
March 13, 1933 – May 9, 2026
Annie Gertrude Mealing was a shining light who heard the gentle call of her Master and peacefully surrendered her soul to her eternal home on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at her beloved residence in Lake City, SC. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Bessie W. Graham, a woman whose life touched so many hearts with her kindness, love, and unwavering faith.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Mealing, her precious youngest son, Raleigh Graham, her brothers—Murray, Freddie, and Deacon James Graham—and her dear sister, Mrs. Ella Mae Graham-Brown. Her extended family in-love the late Willie and William Mealing; sisters-in-love Susie Mae Roberts, and Marie Broadwater.
Known affectionately as "Gertrude," she was born on March 13, 1933, in Florence County, SC—a beacon of hope and resilience. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a shining member of St. Mark Believers Holiness Church under Evangelist Hattie Graham's leadership. Gertrude's life was a testament to dedication and love; she worked tirelessly as a private housekeeper in Washington, DC, and New York, always carrying the warmth of her generous spirit wherever she went. She was celebrated not only as an incredible cook but also as the ultimate family babysitter, whose devoted love for her children knew no bounds.
Her marriage to the late Thomas Mealing was a sacred union, a beautiful blend of two hearts united in love.
Left to carry her beautiful legacy, her devoted son, Mr. RoyLee McFadden; her loving daughter, Denise Mealing of Philadelphia, PA; her grandchildren, Michael McFadden of Marysville, WA, Michele (Rapheal) McFadden-Living of Katy, TX, Jeanette McFadden of Raleigh, NC, Bryon McFadden of Timmonsville, SC, Evangelist MyeSheia (Randy) McFadden-Thompson of Florence, SC and James Barnes of Philadelphia, PA—along with her seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren—are a testament to her enduring love and nurturing spirit; her brothers, Robert (Ophelia) Graham, Jr. and Connie Ann Epps-Singletary of Lake City, SC; and her cherished daughter-in-law, Geneva Graham of Florida. She was also treasured by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, including two special nephews—Shayquan State and Barry Epps—who were more like her own children. A special nephew that she admired and held to high esteem Bill Broadwater.
And now, Annie Gertrude Mealing, a humble servant of God, has answered her divine call and has left this earthly realm to rest in the arms of her Savior. Though she is gone from our sight, her spirit will forever shine brightly within our hearts and minds. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on eternally, blessing all whose lives she touched and loved with a boundless, everlasting grace.
