Obituary

Mrs. Patricia Ann Davis Charles was born the second child of eight children to Newlest "Pap" and Ida Davis Burch. She was born in Florence County on July 4, 1949. She peacefully transitioned to heavenly rest on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.


Affectionately, known as


Tricia. She was educated in the public schools and graduated from Wilson High School, the class of 1967. She was a member of Mount Sinai Holiness Church for many years, where she served as a willing  worker in numerous organizations.


Tricia was united in Holy Matrimony to Harry Charles. To this union three children was born.


Tricia was a loving wife, mother, sister aunt, grandmother and a caring friend to many. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was a community mother to so many children in the neighborhood and she loved them all as her own.


After graduating from high school, she worked at BellSouth and later attended Florence-Darlington Technical College majoring in Accounting.


Tricia was employed at McLeod Regional Medical Center for 23 years where she retired as an EKG Technician. Tricia managed the Cinema 5 theater located downtown Florence and served as a tax preparer and a SC Notary Public for many years.


Tricia was preceded in death by her husband,  parents, grandson Khalil M. Ross, sisters Rosemary Richburg and Judy Davis.


Tricia leaves to cherish her memories three children Traci (Pete) Harvey of Columbia, SC, Annette (Deondray) Green, and Harry (Beverly) Charles all of Florence, SC; grandchildren Calvis S. Hill, DiRonique A. X. Rainey, Tyler D. Alexander, Shabazz R. Eutsey, Taylor M. Alexander, and Newton C. Harvey; six great grandchildren, two brothers Carlton N. Davis of Stone Mountain, GA and Richard "Duck Man" Davis of East Orange, NJ; five sisters Brenda (Larry) James, Pearl (Barris) Blakney, and Marilyn (William) Blakney all of Florence, SC, one surviving brother-in-law Richard (Veronica) Charles of Columbia, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a host of family and friends.
