Obituary

Renora "Babyruth" Hyman King was the daughter of Robert Hyman and the late Ruth Hinnant Hyman. She was born on October 9, 1950, and transitioned peacefully on March 2, 2026.

Renora was born in Florence, South Carolina, where she attended the public schools of Florence County. She graduated from Wilson High School with the Class of 1969.

Renora had a deep passion for cooking. Sundays were especially meaningful to her, as she loved preparing large, home-cooked Southern dinners that brought family and friends together. She found joy in opening her home and making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and comfortable through the meals she lovingly prepared.

Throughout her professional career, Renora worked as an MRI Machine Operator at General Electric and later as a Sewing Machine Operator at Klear-Knit, Inc.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Hinnant Hyman; two sisters, Vickie Bailey and Zerudia "Rudy" Pee; two brothers, Wayne Hyman and Gregory Hyman; and her son, Kevin King.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her son, Lance "Robbie" King of Charlotte, North Carolina; her daughter, Tiwander "Nickie" (Myron) Greene of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Dequrius "Dee" Greene of Charlotte, North Carolina,  Myron "Tony" Greene, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, Tishay Greene of Charlotte, North Carolina, Nevaeh Greene of Charlotte, North Carolina, Donte King of Charleston, South Carolina, Lyric King of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Shawna Cooper of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers, Dwight Hyman of Charlotte, North Carolina and Johnny Hyman of  Charlotte, North Carolina; a special sister, Georgia Williams of Smithfield, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Patricia Hyman of Timmonsville, South Carolina; a special daughter, LaSharon "Candy" Cooper of Charlotte, North Carolina; a special friend, Elouise Sanders of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
