Obituary

Ms. Sharon Leigh Brown was born June 16, 1955 in Richmond, VA to the late Robbie and Allen Brown. She entered into eternal rest with Our Lord Jesus Christ on July 20th, 2023.


She was proceeded in death by her beloved brother, David Brown of San Antonio, TX.


Sharon grew up loving Our Lord and was baptized with Nikia, her granddaughter, at Abundant Life Church in Florence, SC.


After graduating high school at St. John's HS in 1973, she furthered her education by    attending Florence Area Vocational School where she   received her LPN. Sharon worked for various Nursing Homes, supporting and raising Kristen and Jason as a single mother with much love and devotion. Sharon became an Amazing Nana in 1999.


With love and compassion, Sharon also became a volunteer for Florence Area Humane Society, Grateful Dog, Lights for Paws, Bone-E-Fit. She would drive dogs to SNIP to be spayed and neutered for adoption as well. Sharon would work RedWolves games on donation night to raise money for FAHS. She also assisted in the "Missing Pets Group" for Florence, Marion, and Darlington by helping to administer the Facebook groups and with events at Vetco to provide microchips to random members. Thousands of missing pets were returned home with her assistance.


Sharon leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Kristen Brown and Peanut; sons, Christopher Brown and Jason Brown; granddaughters, Nikia Brown (OG), Ray'a Salley, Chloe Brown; grandsons, Chance Salley and Jason "Gabe" Brown; stepmom, Mary Kendrick Brown of OKC, OK; three sisters, Karen Crossland Ramsey ( Fred Rusha) of Juliette, GA, Tracy (Raymond) Brown Holms-Wood of OKC, OK, Lisa Shores (Kim Killough) of Virginia Beach, VA;  sister-in-law, Karen (David) Brown of San Antonio, TX;  co-grandparent and best friend, Sherl Flowers; many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as a host of bonus family and friends that Sharon held near and dear to her heart as if they was her own!
