Obituary

Thomas F. Drumm, 79, of Florence , S.C, passed away peacefully on September 25,
2025 with his beloved wife Pat by his side.
Tom was raised in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania under the care of his devoted
grandparents. His love of the outdoors came from his time exploring the woods and
streams in his youth, spending many hours fishing and hunting. After graduating from
Susquehanna High School, Tom followed a path of service by enlisting in the United
States Navy in 1964, where he worked as a corpsman at St. Albans Naval Hospital. His
dedication to service continued as he transitioned to the Marine Corps, where he served
with honor and distinction as a Field Medic during the Vietnam War.
In 1968, Tom married Pat, his wife of 57 years. They eventually settled in Springfield
Massachusetts to raise their two sons, Tommy and Scott. From a very young age Tom
instilled the love and respect of nature in his boys—leading to camping adventures,
fishing tournaments and spectacular tree forts. Tom introduced his boys to Taekwondo
and worked hard with them to remain dedicated and achieve success. Tom was a
skillful woodworker, who could often be found creating something special in his
workshop for Pat or one of his grandchildren.
Tom retired in 2013 and made the move from MA to SC to enjoy the climate and the
proximity to Tommy. Retirement gave Tom the freedom to indulge in his love for the
outdoors, tending to his garden, bird watching and spending peaceful hours by the
water fishing. He never lost his love of New England sports, and continued to cheer for
the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. Living in SC also brought about Tom's ability to
embrace his service and express his pride at being a Vietnam Veteran—he participated
in many Veteran events at the Florence Veteran's Park.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Patricia, and his devoted sons, Thomas E. Drumm
(Shelly) of Timmonsville and Scott C. Drumm (Michelle) of Wilbraham, MA. Eight
grandchildren, Corey, Nikki, Hannah, Chelsea, Karleigh (Jake), Taylor, Madison, and
Peyton; two great grandchildren, Easton and Olivia and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at the family's convenience in Florence National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Tom's name be made to Vietnam
Veterans of America (VVA) at their website.
