Obituary

On Monday, January 19, 2026, God summoned Uneeda D. Grant to her heavenly home.

Uneeda affectionately known as "Baby" was the daughter of the late Beaufort and Alberta Davis. She had one brother, George "Boy" Davis who proceeded her in death. Uneeda was born on August 6, 1942, in Johnsonville, SC. Uneeda attended the public schools of Florence County. She graduated with pride from Wilson High School with the class of 1960 and remained involved with her 1960 Alumni group.

Uneeda was the oldest daughter. She was a gentle soul who rarely raised her voice but whose love spoke volumes. Being with her family and friends brought her immense joy. She loved her family fiercely, and selflessly. Uneeda often showed her love through humble acts of service by cooking and baking goods to share. She loved to sew, finding joy and creativity in every stitch. She embraced her gifts with grace and gratitude and took pleasure in choosing things that brought comfort to others. Uneeda lived a life of compassion, devotion, faithfulness and humility.

Uneeda worked at Wentworth factory for a few years and there she met the love of her life, Andrew. She then gained employment in 1967 with Southern Bell/Bellsouth. In 1999, she was blessed to retire after thirty-two dedicated years.

Uneeda was a devoted member of Majority Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted active participation. She was the Senior Missionary Treasurer and also was a member of Elizabeth Chapter #296 OES.

Uneeda was joined in Holy Matrimony on September 10,1966 to Andrew Grant. From this Union, they had two sons.

The light of her life shines in the memory of her survivors. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of fifty -nine years, Andrew Grant; two sons, Andrew Tyrone (Denise) Grant of Summerville, SC and Anthony Jerome Grant of Florence, SC; seven grandchildren Derek Brown, Krystal Brown, and Trinitee Grant all of Summerville, SC, Kahlin Swinton, Xavion Grant, Ta'Ziah Grant all of Florence, SC and Anthony Grant of Dillion, SC; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Bobbie Jean Baker and Betty Jean James both of Timmonsville, SC and Emma Jean Davis of Florence, SC; four sisters-n-law, Eunice (Jimmy) Carter of Greenville, SC, Andrea (Thomas) Miller of Savannah, GA, Maryland Brown of Effingham, SC and Sandra Grant of Pamplico, SC; a special, devoted love one, Yolanda Bines; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
