Vernon Lamar Hunter was born   November 10, 1969 in Charleston, SC to Virginia and Harold Billie. He departed this earthly life on February 21, 2023.

At an early age Vernon went to live with his Aunt Helen and Uncle Clice Pondexter in New Jersey who he often referred to affectionally as mom and dad. Vernon received his formal education in the New Jersey school system. During that time he was very active in sports and developed a life long love for football, baseball and basketball. After graduating high school, Vernon enrolled in Mount Claire College and Studied Business Administration. Vernon later enrolled at Berry University in Florida. After some years Vernon moved back to his birth place of Charleston, SC because he became ill and wanted to be closer with his  family. During this time Vernon focused on his Christian faith and his family. After leaving Charleston, Vernon's remaining years were with loving aunt and uncle who truly loved and raised him as their son.

He was preceded in death by father Harold  Billie.

Vernon leaves to cherish his many loving memories his mother Virginia Billie; uncle and aunt Clice and Helen Pondexter, who raised him as their son; two younger brothers Christopher (Connie) Brooks and Lorenzo (Dyshauna) Brooks, cousin Gretchen Hawkins whom he held a special bond and referred to as his sister; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who truly loved Vernon and will miss him.
