Wallace Dorsey, Sr. was born March 1, 1950 in Florence, SC to Ellis Dorsey, Jr. and Almeta Johnson Dorsey. He entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2024.

Wallace attended the public schools of Florence County. He was formerly employed with La-Z-Boy for ten years and a carpenter.

He was a member of Goodland A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Julia Grant Dorsey, son Wallace Dorsey, Jr., two brothers James Dorsey and William Dorsey and granddaughter Lavera Jakalha Lowery.

He leaves many to cherish his memory, two daughters Vera Jones Lowery and Lacy Long; step daughter Lisa Grant; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four sisters Bertha Mack, Sarah Cooper, Alberta Kirven, Alfreda Dorsey; one brother Raymond Dorsey; one sister-in-law Janice Dorsey; one brother-in-law James Mack; six aunts; one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
