Mr. Amos Allen Lewis was 85, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
Services are scheduled to be held 11 am Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at St. Luke AME Church, 539 Chinaberry Rd. Johnsonville, SC.
Amos Allen Lewis was born on June 27, 1937, in Pamplico, South Carolina. He passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
Amos was preceded in death by his father, Quillie Lewis; mother, Mae Bell Eaddy Lewis ; sister; Etaphine Ellison Hyman; bothers; Esaw, George, and Nathan Lewis and a dear and devoted son-in-law, Leverne Harris.
Allen was a devoted member of Saint Luke Methodist Church of Johnsonville, SC, and the Aim Well Masonite Lodge 465 and will always be remembered for his big smile and love for his family and friends.
He worked for Marsh Plywood, Johnsonville Wood Mill, and Delta Mills Marketing Cypress Plant, where he became a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Amos is survived by his wife, Ola Belin Lewis; six children, Alice McMillan; Alma Harris; Allen Junior Lewis; Stephen Allen Lewis; Carolyn Eaton; and Odessa Lewis and one sibling, Annie Bell Eldridge; and seven grandchildren; Melissa McMillan Slater (Marvin); Alexis Harris; Rachael Lewis; Cameron Allen Lewis: Justin Eaton; Chamberlayne Eaton; and Chandler Abraham Eaton; three sisters-in-law; Estelle Lewis; Lottie Lewis; and Ivory Lewis and one brother in- law; Wallie Belin a host of other relatives and friends.
