Bertha E. Jackson Obituary

On January 27,2024 our beloved Bertha departed her  earthly life peacefully at home in Columbia, SC surrounded by those who loved her most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. 


Bertha Elizabeth Jackson was born October 1,1955 in   Darlington, SC to the late Cleveland Jackson and late Clearease Stevenson. Being the oldest child, she would strive to be the strongest and be there when her siblings needed her, especially when they were young. Bertha was extremely outgoing, strong-willed, and danced to the beat of her own drum. She loved the Lord and knew the Lord loved her. 


Bertha received her education from Darlington County School district and was a graduate of St. John's High School class of 1973. She continued her education at Essex County and began working at the federal reserve bank of NJ as a teller. Bertha work history was extensive including working for Wayne Snider, PA as a legal secretary, University Medicine and Dentistry of New     Jersey as an administrative assistant, Carolina Power and Lights as an administrative assistant, Carolina Power and Lights nuclear plant as an administrative assistant, Baker Law Firm as a paralegal, Ben Matthews as a paralegal, cbm as an administrative assistant, and finishing her career and retiring from Coram Infusion Services as a district coordinator on September 29, 2023.


She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kevin Peeples. 


Bertha leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband Clifton Moses of Columbia, SC; her beloved children Chamara R. Williams and Devon M. Moses both of Columbia, SC; grandson Anthony X. Sports of Columbia, SC; her sisters Claretta Jackson, Gwendolyn (Michael)  Norman, Linda L. Peeples, Angela Jackson; her brothers Roosevelt (Valerie) Peeples Jr., Anthony (Ivy) Peeples,   Darren Jackson and Rodney Jackson; nieces Xenia Jackson, Natalie Bryan, Astral Carraway and Mariah Jackson; her special niece Tabbatha (Timothy) Carter; nephews Calvin Jackson, Stephon Jackson, Brandon Peeples Wang, Kelvin Peeples, Raymond Peeples and Jordan Peeples; a host of other close family and dear friends.
