Bobby Jean Cooper-White, daughter of the late James Cooper Sr. and the late Sunether Muldrow Cooper, was born on July 20, 1951, in Florence County. She peacefully departed this life on  Friday, September 5, 2025, due to natural causes. She joins her two siblings, the late James Cooper Jr (2024) and Theodore "TC" Cooper (2015)

Bobby Jean was educated in the public schools of Florence County School District #1 and graduated from Wilson High School in 1970. She worked as a manager at Sarah Lee Hosiery  for over 20 years and later retired from her position at Pee Dee Gardens.

Known for her loving nature and infectious personality, Bobby’s love for people was evident throughout her life. Her compassion and dedication were particularly reflected in her latter career in health care. She was a passionate advocate for senior citizens, ensuring they received proper care and never accepting excuses when it came to their well-being. She was dearly loved by her family, friends, and community. Her sense of fashion was reflected in her stylish heels, sunglasses, handbags, and hats. The world has lost a shining star.

She is survived by her children David R. Cooper (Wendolyn), Candies M. Cooper, Dwayne Cooper (Stas), Adrienne W. Gibson (AC); grandchildren Imani Cooper, Indya Jean-Louis (Gianni), Jahimeca Sims, Ilona Cooper, Iyani Sims, Qua'mere Sims, Isaiah Cooper and Jason Jacobs; great-grandchildren Legend Sims, Zion Jean-Louis, Ivory Cockfield, Ezra Jean-Louis; siblings Louise Sanders, Nathaniel Cooper, Dorothy Ervin, Joe Cooper (Helen), John Cooper; sister-in-law Mary Jane Cooper; special friend Catherine "Kitty" Wilson; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
