Cleveland Vereen, aged 80, of Pamplico, South Carolina, passed away on November 4, 2023, in Florence, SC. He was born on August 10, 1943 to Charlie and Laura Vereen. Cleveland was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Cleveland was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in spending time to indulge in his passion for automobiles, music, and life in general. He cherished the company of his family, friends, and the bonds he formed throughout his life were invaluable.
Left to cherish his memory is his spouse, Celeste Vereen; daughters Melissa Bass (Ervin Bass), and Alicia Vereen; son Tyrone Vereen; step-daughters Vanessa Sansbury, Valarie Sansbury, Carolyn Barr; grandsons Paris King (Christina King) and Jamari Vereen; granddaughter Cherish King; great-grandchildren; sisters Ammie Vereen and Sherby-Jean Spears (Earl Spears); brother Robert Vereen; a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
A special thanks and blessings to Ms. Margaret for caring for him through the most difficult time in his life.
Cleveland was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Vereen, mother, Laura Vereen, his brother, James Vereen, and a brother-in-law LeRoy Hill. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved them.
Cleveland received his education at Gibbs High School, where he laid the foundation for a life well-lived. Throughout his career at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Middletown Ct., Cleveland dedicated his time and skills to make valuable and quality contributions that garnered the respect of his colleagues.
Cleveland Vereen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace in the embrace of the DIVINE ALL.
