Ella Louise Cooks was born May 30, 1956 to the late Alex Cooks and Susie Green Cooks. She departed her earthly life on Sunday, February 22, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Louise, as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Florence Public School System. She dedicated years working in food service, where she built lasting connections and friendships.
At an early age, Louise was baptized and received the Holy Spirit at Wayside Progressive Church of Jesus, under the leadership of the late Earlene Howard. She later joined St. John Progressive Church of Jesus under the leadership of Dr. Gloria Cooper, where she remained a member until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Moses Green, Robert Cooks, and Edward Cooks; two sisters: Bertha Peoples and Mary Brinkley.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Tanisha Cooks and Terrance Cooks, both of Florence, SC; five sisters: Helen Howard and Annette Smith of Florence, SC; Hattie (Henry) Profit of Cartersville, SC, Edith Conner of Pompano, FL, Janie Morris of St. Petersburg, FL; two brothers: Jack Cooks of Florence, SC, and Sammie Cooks of Pensacola, FL; lifelong friend, Theodore Nettles of Florence, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
