Hope L. Joyed Obituary

Hope Letitia Joyed was born on January 26, 1975, in Lake City, SC to Durant Brown, Jr. and the late Helen Godfrey Brown. From a young age, Hope embodied love, strength, and faith, qualities she carried throughout her life. She departed her earthly life on October 4, 2024.

She grew up with her siblings Sharon Hammond, Melissa Gaskins (Glenn), and Michael Brown (Kellie), learning the importance of family and hard work. After graduating from Lake City High School in 1993, Hope embarked on a journey that brought both personal and professional fulfillment.

In 2000, she married Mack Joyed, the love of her life. Together, they built a life filled with joy and mutual respect, supporting each other through every season, including Hope’s courageous battle with cancer. Mack was her unwavering partner and best friend.

A special part of their family was Grandma Rachel, who lovingly raised Mack and played an important role in both their lives. Hope cherished the bond they shared, and Grandma Rachel’s wisdom and care were a source of strength for them both.

Hope also deeply valued her relationship with her in-laws, Elizabeth and Macquillan Joyed, who welcomed her into their family with love. She shared a special bond with Mack’s siblings, including the late Macquillan “Junior” Joyed, Valerie Joyed, Rachell Joyed, Robbin Simon, Vickie Joyed, and Matthew Joyed.

Hope and Mack raised two children, Asia Brown and Jaelyn Joyed, who were her greatest pride and joy. She poured her heart into raising them with love and care. Her grandson, Josiah Brown, was her light, and she treasured their time together.

She was also a beloved aunt to her nephews, who turned to her for advice and affection. Hope’s loving and supportive nature made her a guiding force in their lives.

Hope worked at Assurant, where she was admired for her dedication and kindness. Despite the challenges she faced, including her illness, her faith remained steadfast, and she met every trial with grace and courage.

Hope’s life was a reflection of her deep faith, love for family, and unshakable strength. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance will forever live on in those she touched.
