Mrs. Inetha Dukes, affectionately known as “Maxine”, departed this earthly life on Monday, April 14, 2025. Maxine was born on June 3, 1953 in Florence, South Carolina to Willie Brown Sr. and Myrtle Lee Stuckey Brown.
She attended the public schools of Florence School District One, where she was a member of the first graduating class of West Florence High School, in 1971. After high school, Maxine went straight into the workforce. She was gainfully employed at Marlowe Manufacturing Company which later became Clear Knit Manufacturing
Company, Youngs Pecan, and most recently Wal-Mart Supercenter on Irby Street. Maxine spent many years at each of these companies, where she established and maintained meaningful, long-lasting relationships and friendships.
She was preceded in death by her brother Willie Brown, Jr., father Willie Brown, Sr., grandmother Nettie Cooper Stuckey, mother Myrtle Lee Stuckey Brown, youngest son Andre Gerard Brown, and her late husband Robert Dukes.
Mrs. Inetha “Maxine” Dukes leaves behind to cherish her loving memory one son TeRance (Nena) Brown; one daughter Duchess Andrea Dukes; seven grandchildren Javen Brown, Jamal Brown, Jazmine Garner, Khi Garner, Andrea Dukes, Zaniyah Dukes, and Dakari Dukes; two sisters Annette Brown Godbolt and Gail Stuckey; one brother, Frederick Brown; three nephews, Marvin Godbolt, Jr., Robert Stuckey, and James Smith; two nieces, Markeisha Godbolt and Fredericka Smith; a host of other relatives and friends.
