Janetta Bell Davis was born February 9, 1960 to the late Lee, Sr. & Annie Bell Grant Smith in Bronx, NY.  As a young child, she was adopted and raised by the late Nick and Charlena Bell in Pamplico, SC. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at McLeod Health.

Janetta attended Hannah-Pamplico High School, graduating in 1978. After graduation, she attended Florence-Darlington Technical College. She graduated from Betty Stevens Cosmetology School as a licensed cosmetologist.  She was employed by several jobs during her lifetime including: Health South, McLeod Health, Fun Tees Manufacturing, & Coleman Family Practice.

Janetta was converted at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hyman, SC. She later joined Pentecostal United Churches of Christ Apostolic, Inc. in Florence, SC. Over the past few years, she has been faithfully attending Mill Branch AME Church in Pamplico, SC with her husband. She had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her plants and her flowers.  She also had a love for arts and crafts!

She was joined in holy matrimony to Calvin Davis in July 1983.  To this union, two children were born.

She was preceded in death by one sister, the late Mazie Gibbs of Columbia, SC.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband of 42 years, Calvin Davis of the home, two sons, Jarrett (Amber) Davis of Charlotte, NC and Damain (Sheniqua) Davis of Darlington, SC;  two grandchildren, Chase and Camryn Davis of Darlington, SC; one brother, Lee Smith, Jr of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Barbara Ann (Jibril Sadat) Sturkey of Charlotte, NC, Carolyn (Cunas) McCauly of Kernersville, NC, Helene Smith of Winston-Salem, NC; four uncles, L.C. Grant and C.W. Grant of Pamplico, SC, Roosevelt (Linda) Grant and Sam (Suzie Mae) Smith of Columbia, SC; two aunts, Annette Lewis of Pamplico, SC and Betty Smith of New York; a mother-in-law, Alma Lee Davis of Pamplico, SC; two brothers-in-law, Sylvester (Georgia) Davis and Robert (Elaine) Davis both of  Pamplico, SC; a sister-in-law, Linda Davis Becote of Pamplico; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
