Jettie Ruth Belin Sweetenburg was called home by God on December 27, 2023 while surrounded by her family at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Born on June 5, 1946 in Florence, SC she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Pearlie Mae Belin.
A native of Middletown, CT she relocated to Riviera Beach, Florida before settling back home in Pamplico, SC.
“DaLa”, as affectionately called by friends and family was married to the late James Sweetenburg for almost 20 years. She spent much of her career in the manufacturing industry. She was a hard-working devoted Christian. DaLa was very family oriented. You could always count on her to cook your Sunday dinner, sing and dance with you, or take you on a road trip. With great enthusiasm she always shared life lessons, scriptures, and frequent words of wisdom.
Dala was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Pearlie Mae Belin, sister Lisa Gordon, brother James Belin, and two grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories: three sons and two daughters, Curtis Belin, Carmella (Jerry) Kennedy, Tina (Fred) Daniels, Jonathan Belin, and Derrick (Trish) Belin; two brothers and four sisters, Berlin Belin, Douglas Belin, Barbara Ann Burch, Von Belin, Pearline Belin, and Margaret Williams; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
