Joshua Atebia Smith passed away on January 11, 2026 at the age of 29. He was born on January 5, 1997 to Lucretia Floyd and Samuel McKnight Jr.


Joshua grew up in Mullins, South Carolina, where he attended public schools. He later moved to Latta, South Carolina, where he continued his education in the public school system. Joshua later graduated from Job Corps of Bamberg, South Carolina, where he received his high school diploma.


Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Samuel McKnight Jr., his grandparents, Lillie F. Spears, Johnnie Smith, and Queen B. Smith.


He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lucretia Floyd; his adoptive parents (great aunt and uncle), Grace and Alton Smith; five sisters, LaQuettia Floyd, Sade Floyd, Samantha Smith, Sabrina Smith, and Nicole Smith; one brother, Jeremiah Floyd; ten nieces and nephews, Kenadi, Kayla, Keniard, Jaxon, DonQuevius, Destiny, Rakeem, Kinsley, Dantè, and Xavier; two aunts, Francine Isom and Chana Floyd; five uncles, Curtis McKnight, Trapper McKnight, Don (Betty Ann) McKnight, Louis McKnight, and Pervis Spears; a host of cousins, other relative and friends.
