Kathy Lynn Purvis Willis was born on August 5, 1958, to Caleb John Purvis and Ella Keith Purvis in  Florence County. She entered eternal rest on December 18, 2025. 

Kathy attended schools in Florence County and graduated from South Florence High School before studying at Morris College. She worked for the state of South Carolina at the Department of    Disabilities and Special Needs in Florence. 

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Caleb John Purvis and Ella Keith Purvis; her husband, Billy Willis; her brother, John Purvis Jr.; and two sisters, Rebecca Jean Rhoden and Frances White.

Cherishing her memory are her five children: Anastasia (Aydron) Gamble, Brenda (Sidney) Willis, John (Wannie) Purvis, Jordan (Shameka) Purvis, and Christian Purvis. Kathy is also survived by twelve grandchildren, KaeYanah Purvis, Amari, Ziyon, and Ashanti Gamble, Akasha Lawson, Kyri Mack, Kaleb Purvis, Bryson and Blake Jeffery, Christopher, Billy, and Mason Willis and three great-grandchildren: Ky’mere, RaeLynn, and Brylee. She leaves behind her brother Donald (Geraldine) Purvis, three nephews Kevin (Tawanna) Purvis, Donald (Tanya) Purvis, and William Dean and four nieces Kalisha (Julian) Jones, Theresa (Donnie) Simmons, Tenesha (Earl) Roy, and Millicent Dean, along with many other relatives and friends. 

Remembered as a God-fearing woman devoted to her family, Kathy was always willing to help those in need. She was known for her kind and loving nature, her passion for cooking, traveling, singing, and spending time with her loved ones. The way she lived and the love she shared touched everyone around her. Kathy will be deeply missed.
