With great honor and respect, we remember Kelly M. Chapman, who passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at UNLV Hospital in Las Vegas, NV, on June 2, 2024. Kelly was born on December 30, 1981, in Cheraw, SC, to Sandra J. Bloomfield and Alvin "Cookie" Parson. He most recently lived in Las Vegas, NV.
Kelly was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents Delilah J. Lyles and Charles E. Chapman, paternal grandparents Maisy Allen Parson and Ed Parson, aunt Joanne F. Davis, uncle Edward "Peanut" Parson, and great uncle Garry Jackson.
Kelly’s favorite hobbies included taking long walks while listening to Young Jeezy and T.I., and sitting alone outside, basking in the sun or the cool nighttime air. He loved trying new foods, with a particular fondness for spaghetti, Philly cheesesteaks, and soul food. A devoted sports fan, Kelly cheered for the Carolina Panthers, Clemson Tigers, and the Miami Heat. He found peace at the beach and cherished his family above all else, valuing loyal bonds and hard work.
Kelly also enjoyed classic '90s TV shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Martin, and The Bernie Mac Show. He grew fond of his cat, even enrolling him in contests. A hard-working man, Kelly took pride in his independence, often working multiple jobs. He dreamed of becoming a restaurant owner, constantly learning new recipes and cooking techniques. Though he never had children, he was a beacon to many, offering wisdom, creating a haven for those he loved. Kelly knew discomfort and turned it into comfort for others. His life was a testament to prayer and hope, to strength of body and mind. Known for his loyalty and fairness, Kelly was more than a friend, more than a brother—he was a guardian angel in the truest sense.
