Mr. Kelly ‘Buddy’ Moore, son of the late Sonny and Annie ‘Minnie’ Bell Moore, was born on August 1, 1944 in Marion County, South Carolina. Kelly departed his life on March 23, 2024 at McLeod Health, in Florence, South Caroline after a brief illness.
Kelly was educated in Marion County School System. He accepted Christ at an early age. His work history ranged from landscaping, manufacturing to retail. However, landscaping was his passion. Kelly was well-know and loved by his family, friends and community. He never met a stranger and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He truly demonstrated an act of service character to those he came in contact. Kelly loved playing his guitar and singing. He loved listening to and singing country and gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Alice Moore, daughter, Karen Moore, adoptive daughter, Wilhelmina Lewis Davis and sister, Golda Mae Graves.
He left to cherish is memory, his loving and devoted wife of forty years, Gracie Mae Lewis Moore; three sons; Karone (Shaina) Lewis of Florence, SC, Kindall Moore of Norfolk, Va, and Kenyatta (Ariel) Moore of Pawleys Island, SC; one adoptive daughter, Veronica McBride Ward of Huntsville, AL; one stepdaughter Sheila Nicholson of Mullins, SC; he had nine grandchildren Olajuwon Lewis, Akeem McBride, Amir McBride, Jakiyah Davis, Kentrell Moore, Kamron Lewis, Karmyn Lewis, Kenyatta Moore Jr., Kendrick Moore; one brother Joe (Joanna) Moore of Brittons Neck, SC; three sisters-in-law Willia Mae Dollard of Smyrna, DE, Jesse Lee Brown of Gresham, SC and Juanita (Willie) Wilson of Suffolk, VA; one brother-in-law Leroy (Roxanne) Lewis of Plainfield, NJ; special nieces and nephew Gennie (William) Brown of Lake City, SC, Pertina (Sam) Belin of Johnsonville, SC and Roy (Juliana) Moore of Gresham, SC; he has a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
