Kendell Jaiden Scott was born on May 12, 2012 to the late Deone Shanard Scott and Falana Brown Scott at McLeod Regional in Florence, SC. He departed this life on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.

He attended Florence One Public Schools. Kendell was witty, humorous, and lovable. At the time of his passing, Kendell was a sixth grader at Southside Middle School. As an exceptional scholar, he was state identified as a gifted and talented student. In honor of his academic achievement, leadership ability, and interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, Kendell was invited, and attended the National Youth Leadership Forum “Explore STEM” in Raleigh-Durham, NC during the Summer of 2022. He was presented the President’s Education Awards Program Outstanding Academic Excellence Award in 2023.   His extracurricular activities at school included being a member of the National Beta Club and Honor Band. Kendell was an outstanding artist and an exceptional musician; he enjoyed playing video games with his cousin/brother, Ian, and big brother, D.J. He also loved swimming, playing the drums and keyboard, but basketball was his passion, and he was phenomenal at it. His favorite team was the Golden State Warriors.

He started playing basketball in the Youth Sports Programs at the Pearl Moore  Basketball Center. His career high was seventeen points! One of his proudest accomplishments was when the Florence Allstars won the SCAP Eastern District Tournament 10U Division during the 2022 – 2023 season. They went on to win two championships! Kendell was scouted and recruited to Carolina Bad Boyz   AAU by Coach Rodney Lesane AKA “Coach Pop”. The Bad Boyz won four championships and Kendell’s career high with the team was eleven points! He was currently a member of the Palmetto Pride AAU team under the direction of Coach Blake Walker.

He attended Dominion Church in Darlington, SC and was active in Kingdom Kidz. His favorite scripture was Psalm 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Falana Brown Scott and his big brother, Dominick “D.J.” Scott of the home; paternal grandmother Pastor Mae Francis Scott; maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Howard and Alice Brown; his surrogate parents Oscar “Uncle Bo-Bo” & “Auntie” Falecia Gregg; aunt Bridgette Swindler special uncles Anthony (Teonna) McCall, H. Vashon (Shonda) Brown, Jr., Reginald (Ashley) Brown; cousin/brother Ian Gregg; cousins Vashti, Tyrone, Jarod, Jarell, Kenan, Kaiden, Jessica, Quataja, Karrington, Lathe, Makayla, McKenzie, Olivia, and Arianna; his godmother Karen Follett; godparents Mr. & Mrs. Jesse & Jessie Addison; two special great-aunts; Gertrude Covington and Ethel “Sue” Chukes; cousin/uncle James (Andrea) Emanuel, Jr.; cousin/aunt Tonia (Reginald) Jamison, nine great-uncles; seven great-aunts; one great-great-great aunt, Jennie Sanders; friend Isa Rose; his teammates Zack, Kyrin, Christian L., Christian G., James, Devin, Elijah, Dantrell, Wynston, Jordan, Darius, Bryson,   Ayden, Will, Dax, Faheim, Semaj, D.J., Dallas, Deuce, Jarrod, Landyn; coaches Blake Walker, Derrion Lloyd, Craig Anderson and Derrick Maynes.
