Mr. Leo Farmer James affectionally known as “Bubba” was born in Florence County on December 7, 1953. He was the son of Leo James and Betty Carol Farmer James both of Florence County. He departed this life on Thursday, September 19, 2024. 

Bubba was educated in the public schools of Florence County graduating from McClenaghan High School. He obtained his bachelors degree in Psychology at Francis Marion University and continued his education at Bluefield State University in West Virginia, where he obtained his master degree.

Bubba worked at the United States Postal Service from which he retired. He found joy in reading and learning new languages. He also enjoyed walking, gardening and running his boarding houses. Bubba was a loving and caring man who loved his family.

In addition to his parents, Bubba was preceded in death by his two sisters Venus Sonnorra James and Donna Gail James Hunter, also one niece Mechelle B Ellerbe and three nephews Jordan A James, De’Angelo James and Jefferen “Bernie” Gethers whom he considered as his own children.

Left to cherish precious memories of Bubba are his niece Keondra James of Florence, SC; three nephews Sky James of Charlotte NC, Chauncey (Stacy) Hunter and Jerniel (Natasha) Hunter both of Florence SC; cousins which whom he was raised with Alice Capehart, Sharon Williams, Arthur James III, Sadie Mae Bradley Moses, Elizabeth M Young, Sophie Richardson Davis and Ann Richardson  Addison; great aunt Essie James; Aunt Betty Farmer; uncles William E (Sarah) Farmer and Robert Farmer; brother-in-law Edgo Hunter and a host of other family and friends, he also had close and best friends Donna McDaniel, Brenda, Dr. Xochela V. James and Stephen   Rafael James. Bubba will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
