Minnie Gloria Dockery age 69 transitioned on March 24, 2025, at Mcleod Medical Regional Center. She was born Minnie Smith and known to most as “Gloria.” Born May 1, 1955, in Hartsville SC, she was born to Albert McClain & Minnie Smith. She was raised by her father James Tinsley.
She received her education in Florence County School System.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was baptized and then moved her membership to Monumental Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the VOI Choir, Intermediate Usher board, Senior Missionary, Co-Chair to the late Lena Jackson for the Tree of Life, Youth Department, Co-Chair Black History Program 2025 and Pastors Pulpit Aid Committee.
She was a member of the Concern Citizen Association of North Florence where she enjoyed the workouts, dances, collaborations, companionships etc. She was employed at Faith & Heritage Nursing homes, she was employed and retired by SCDDSN Pee Dee Center for thirty-one years, where she worked with a host family and friend.
Minnie was a devoted wife. She was a cherished mother, beloved sister, proud grandmother/ great grandmother, caring aunt, and dear friend to so many. Her warmth and presence touched countless lives. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew her.
She was also preceded in death by her parents & brothers Sonny Wright, Jimmy McClain, Benjamin Poston & Arthur Samuel.
She was joined in Holy matrimony to Frederick G Dockery on May 1 2009. He loved her with an unbridled love.
She leaves to cherish her memory husband Frederick G. Dockery; children Carlous (Bonnie), Tinsley Eric McAllister, Angel (William) Profit, Dannial (Chris) Echols and Dedrea Durant; Grandchildren Jamal Wright, Ramona Johnson, Shakeylia McAllister, Chequeta Johnson, Deja, India and Zion Echols, Shareka Brown, Terikia Faison, Kirston Robinson, April Isreal, Brittany Carter, William Robinson, Darius Profit, Dedrion, Zoey and Bellah Durant, fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers Albert McClain Jr., Garry McClain, Joseph Poston; sisters Geneva Tinsley, Azalee McPhail (Dan), Daisy Allen, Constance Dixon, Evonne Poston, Martha Wilson and Tiashuana Knight; nephews and niece reared in the home Travoris Thomas, Nisha Tinsley and Brandon Tinsley; one aunt Wilhemina Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
