Moses Small Jr.

Mr. Moses “Newkey” Small Jr. was born on June 25, 1953 in Florence County to the late Moses Small Sr. and Mother Marie Small. Moses entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Moses attended the public schools of Florence County.

Moses grew up in Zion Tabernacle Holiness Church in   Florence, SC.

Moses was a devoted family man.  He showed his sociable wealth in his many wonderful conversations with his mom and sister. Not to mention memorable interactions with his brothers. For many years enjoying the NBA Finals to the  excitement of the NFL Superbowl. Newkey was a dedicated Pittsburg Steelers Fan.

For many years Moses worked as a Roofer where he specialized in working various jobs helping to construct major business buildings within the Florence area. This is what he enjoyed, which allowed him to help local homeowners throughout the community.

Moses Jr. was preceded in death by his wife Florence James Small, father Moses Small Sr., brother Robert Lee Small,  sister Carolyn Small Griffin.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children Jeremy James- Small, Jermaine James-Small both of Brooklyn, NY,  Moses Small III of Atlanta, GA, Denotia Murray Simon of  Florence, SC; his mother Mother Marie Small of Florence, SC; his sisters Patricia Allen and Helen Robinson Holyfield both of Florence, SC; his brothers Eugene (Grace) Small, Willie Small, Jerry (Patricia) Small, Kenneth (Rosalind) Small, Tony Small all of Florence, SC, Larry (Sheila) Small of Waldorf MD; four grandchildren, special friends Naomi Franks, Willie Pringle,   Tony Haynesworth, Robert (Wanda) Preston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
