Mrs. Daisy Cooper Moore, a radiant and loving soul who touched the lives of many with her compassion and kindness, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home while under hospice care. Daisy was born on February 3, 1940, in Florence, SC to the late Neverson Cooper and Julia Grant Cooper.

Her life was a beautiful testament to love, strength, and a caring spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Daisy was raised in the Mars Bluff community of Florence and attended public schools in Florence County. She was a proud graduate of Wilson High School in Florence, SC, Class of 1960. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Queens, NY to live with her beloved aunt and uncle, Annie Mae & Joe Franklin. Their union lasted twenty-five wonderful years until his death and was blessed with two beautiful daughters whom she loved dearly.

Daisy dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked faithfully at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in New York for 39 years before retiring. Her work with individuals living with mental illness was more than a job—it was a calling. Daisy’s compassion, patience, and dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on many patients and colleagues throughout her career.

After retiring, Daisy returned to her hometown of Florence, SC. Shortly after, Daisy relocated to Columbia, SC to be closer to her loving daughters Lisa and Sonya and devoted son-in-law, Zeb who supported his wife with his kindness and dedication as they both committed to her caregiving needs.

In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Moore; sisters: Mattie Johnson, Patricia Ann Cooper, and Geraldine Cooper; brothers: Neverson Cooper Jr. and Ronald Cooper.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughters, Lisa Best of Columbia, SC and a daughter Sonya (Zeb) Coe of Irmo, SC who both served faithfully as her caregivers until her death. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Phinisha (Anthony) Cody of McDonough, GA, Joshaline Douglas of Durham, NC, Paul (Ashley) Best III of Columbia, SC and Chase Coe of Irmo, SC.
