Mother Mae Bell Lane-Fulmore Obituary

Mrs. Mae Bell Lane Fulmore, the beloved daughter of the late Ed and Mary Lane, was born on February 21, 1933, in Camden, SC. She peacefully departed this life on April 12, 2025, surrounded by love and faith.

Mae Bell received her early education in the public schools of Timmonsville, SC. Later in life, with determination and grace, she earned her GED in New York and proudly graduated from cosmetology school.

Her upbringing on a farm instilled in her a strong work ethic and a diverse skill set that served her well throughout her life. Mae Bell was the heart of her family — a nurturing soul whose presence lit up every room and whose words held generations together. Known for her nurturing spirit and deep-rooted values, she poured her love into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, teaching them the importance of hard work, kindness, and perseverance.

A woman of deep faith, Mae Bell was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She lived a life of service — not just to God, but to her family, her community, and especially to children. Her compassion and devotion inspired her to open a daycare program, where she nurtured and guided young hearts with love and patience.

Mae Bell believed in community, faith, and the healing power of food, laughter, and family. Her cooking was legendary, her prayers unshakable, and her stories full of Southern charm and life lessons that will echo for generations.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Garland, five brothers Legrand, Willie, Albert, JD, and Lavarne Lane and six sisters Eula Mae, Corrine, Marie, Rosa Lee Green, Pearline, and Daisy.

Her legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through her daughter Charlena Fulmore; her four grandchildren Chris, Victoria, Sharine, and Jasmine Fulmore all of Florence, SC; a host of  great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her light will shine in our hearts forever. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant…” – Matthew 25:21
