Mrs. Myrtle Lee Blandin Nettles, was born on February 3, 1957, daughter of Shirley Frierson Blandin and Isaiah Blandin. She departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on March 10, 2023 after a brief illness.
She was a graduate of McClenaghan High in 1975. She was employed at Florence District One Schools for 45 years where she was a Teacher Assistant. She retired from Florence District One and returned because of the passion she had for little kids. She joined and became a member of Monumental Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, SC at an early age.
“Mert” was a nickname she became accustomed to growing up. She was a virtuous woman with a kind loving and caring spirit. Myrtle became the Matriarch of the family who enjoyed cooking “Sunday Dinners” for the family, traveling and everyone looked to her for advice. Myrtle touched many lives including those who were blessed with knowing her, and she will forever be greatly missed.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her son, Nijel T. Blandin, her mother Shirley F. Blandin and her brother Morgan I. Blandin.
