Natasha Collins Obituary

Natasha Lynn Collins, born on December 28, 1976, at Albert Einstein Hospital in Bronx, NY, to Edward and Vernice Collins. Natasha  affectionally called “Tasha”, peacefully passed away on October 14, 2023, at the tender age of forty-six in Florence, South Carolina.

Natasha was married to Adwar Darby and from this union bore a  loving daughter Kailyn Darby. Tasha was a devoted mother to her daughter Kailyn, and together they resided in Mount Vernon, New York.

Natasha received her early education in the White Plains School    System and later attended Lehman College, Bronx, NY where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Early  Childhood Development. She began her career  at Southern Westchester of BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) and later accepted a position at the Westchester County Department of Probation, where she worked nearly seventeen years until her  passing. Natasha was a member of the Guardians Association of Westchester and Rockland New York. Natasha served as an active member of her co-op community board.

Natasha's faith played a significant role in her life. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a long-time member of Grace  Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY. Her strong belief in God guided her actions as a mother, ensuring her daughter Kailyn knew the Lord from an early age. Natasha actively served in several ministries at Grace, including advising the Children's choir, supporting mom to the Girl Scouts, and the Joyce Harrigan dance ministry.

Natasha will be remembered as someone who deeply cared about  others. She loved wholeheartedly and always wanted the best for    everyone, offering honest opinions and remaining loyal to her loved ones. She cherished family traditions and sought to continue them. Natasha had a joyful spirit, enjoying jokes, laughter, special moments with her nephews and good times with family and friends.

Natasha is survived by whom she loved and adored, her daughter Kailyn Darby; parents Edward and Vernice Collins; sisters Aretha Collins and Daneen Collins; brother Edward Collins Jr.; eight     nephews Edward Jr., Trenton, Burnett, Tyler, Andrew, Christian, Carlton and Darius; one great niece, Mya and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and a special friend, Charles Cotton.

May Natasha's memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
