On June 28, 2023 our beloved Rachell departed her  earthly life surrounded by those who loved her most. She was a devoted wife,  loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Rachell Washington Martin was born on April 30, 1969 in Florence, SC to the late James W. Washington Sr. and Millerdean Davis Washington. Even though she was the baby of the family she was the “glue” that held the   family together.

Rachell received her education from Florence One Schools and was a graduate of Wilson High School class of 1987. Rachell  continued her education at Florence-Darlington Technical College and received an associates degree in Human Services. She later furthered her education at Limestone University receiving her bachelors degree in Psychology. She was employed by the Florence County Auditors Office for a number of years until her health declined.

Rachell met and later married her devoted husband Paul Martin on April 26, 2014.

She was proceeded in death by her parents James and Millerdean Washington, her niece Vernetta W. Brunson, and her sister-in-law Joyce Washington.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Paul Martin; a loving daughter Jessica Washington of Florence, SC; bonus children Jeniya Martin of Greenville, SC, Paul Ramel Martin of Atlanta, GA, Kaseem (K.K) Martin and Andre Martin both of Long Island, NY; seventeen grandchildren including two that she helped raised Jayda and Jayden Washington; sister Jacqueline Washington of the home; three brothers James Washington, John Washington and Phillip Washington all of Florence, SC; honorary daughter Taronda Barnes; two god children Jasmine Dark and Justine Brown; one god sister April Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
