Robert Earl “Bobby” Davis was born on October 14, 1951, in Johnsonville, SC to Vernie Ruth Gorley and the late Benjamin Davis. He departed this earthly life on January 20, 2024.
Bobby was educated in Florence County Public Schools, and later became a Heavy Equipment Operator and Landscaper.
At an early age, “Bobby” gave his life to Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Emma Davis of Johnsonville, SC; six children, Tiffany Woodberry of Augusta, GA, Robert Bryant (Charlene) Burgess of Lake City, SC, Christopher Burgess, Johnathan Woodberry, Eric Woodberry all of Johnsonville, SC, and Bonda (Ashley) Burgess-Eaddy of Greenville, SC, ; fifteen grandchildren; mother Vernie Ruth Gorley of the home; three brothers Benjamin “Benny” Davis of Johnsonville, SC, Tommy (Janice) Davis of Plainfield, NJ, Eugene “Bubba” (Priscilla) Davis of Durham, NC; three sisters Emma Davis of Newfoundland, NJ, Carolyn (Alexander “Al”) Porchea of Hemingway, SC, and Shirley Davis of Johnsonville, SC.; five sisters-in-law Christine Williams, Bernice Shoats, Glendora Burgess, Beverly Conyers, and Bobbie Ellison; two brothers-in-law, Ernest “Squeak” Burgess and Preston “Pret” Burgess ; one paternal aunt Christina Pearson; a devoted best friend Anderson Cooper; a special friend Marcella Wise; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins he loved dearly.
