Roneathia Scott was born on February 17, 1949, in Lee County, daughter of Rosa and David Scott, Jr. Roneathia departed this life Saturday evening, November 4, 2023, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center , Florence, South Carolina.


She was educated in the public schools of Lee County and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Elliott, SC. After graduation, Roneathia moved to Florence, SC to attend Florence-Darlington Technical College to pursue a career as medical assistant. She joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elliott at an early age and attended Mt. Sinai Holiness Church after she moved to Florence. Later she attended and became a member of Monumental Missionary Baptist Church.


Roneathia possessed the ability to make anyone feel welcomed but had an incomparable sense of humor. She had a passion for sewing and cooking. Roneathia loved her family and anyone  she met. She was the beacon of love for her family. Her employment was with Marlowe Manufacturing, better known as Klear Knit, Sara Lee Hosiery, McLeod where she found her passion in patient care and retired after 15 years of service.


She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Tommy Lee, James, and Harold Scott and Robert Carl Wells; three sisters Vernell McMickle, Hattie Reeves, and Eva Mae Scott Mason.


Precious memories of her life will be cherished by her children, Keith Scott of the home, Shelia Scott of Quinby, SC and Kenynon Scott, Sr. of Florence, SC; eight grandsons W. Cameron (Iris) Scott of Charlotte, NC, K. Deaujae Scott of Florence, SC, Kentrell Wilson of Florence, SC, Kenlarris Kelly of Darlington, SC, Kenniveon Scott of Florence, SC, Quay’Sheed Scott of Marion, SC, Kenynon, Jr of the home, and Kaneathin Scott of Florence, SC; three granddaughters Kaidyn, Keyani, and Kaniya Scott all of Florence, SC; two sisters Joanne (Mason) Rogers, and Barbara Cockfield, both of Florence, SC; two sisters-in-law Clara B. Scott of Florence, SC, and Deloris L. Wells of Elliott, SC; special friend Princeola Dickerson of Florence, SC and a host of relatives and friends.
